The new Day's Jewelry store in Manchester proves you can design a beautiful jewelry store in a large space.
Recent trends in shapes, colors, lighting--and even security offer jewelers exciting new display options.
The ADA requires that aisles in businesses be at least 36 in. wide, with enough turnaround areas for wheelchairs.
After reviewing several proposals from various store designers, I made the decision to engage Herb Schottland, not only based on his portfolio, and his competitive bid, but because he has a no-nonsense approach to the practical aspects of store design, customer traffic, and function, with an eye for beauty and aesthetics. The scope of the work was both large and complicated as Herb designed a showcase layout with over 100 showcases and fixtures. To add to the complexity of the job, very tight deadlines were imposed. The most important and impressive aspect of working with Herb was his ability to commit to and deliver on his promises. I would give him a high recommendation for the quality work.
We have received nothing but compliments from everyone. It is very modern looking, but puts the emphasis where it belongs, on showing jewelry. Our sales increased by double digits last year and has continued this year, even though most of the industry has experienced a softening in sales. I think your work is largely responsible for this…The new lighting that you recommended is simply dazzling… I searched for over two years for a designer before I chose you. I made a good decision. You are easy and fun to work with, and the cases arrived when you said they would.
After explaining my dreams for the space, Herb asked me the right questions pertaining to quantity of staff, accessibility as well as security. He made suggestions and together we came up with a stylish and functional floor plan…Herb is a man of detail and passion… He knew exactly how many helpers and carpenters I would need to get the installation done… Herb was there to oversee the process and made sure everything went smoothly. [Herb] put[s] his heart into clients and design.
Herb was able to almost double our display space with his unique design. It was finished in the fall of 2005 and still looks great. More importantly, it works wonderfully.
The drawing concept blew me away. The shapes and linear feet that were in the design allowed for much more showcase room without crowding the showroom. We ordered the cases from him and they looked great. In 2013 we were able to expand into the adjoining space and one of the first things we did was call Herb. He came to our store again and looked at the additional space and drew up a very complimentary design to the original design. We updated the lighting as well. It was a seamless transition to the new cases. Herb was very easy to work with and was with us all the way in helping design the storage and function of the cases as well as the design plan. He provided valuable input that created a warm retail environment in our store.
Store Design and Fixturing worked with us to bring our vision to life. Herb listened to our thoughts and concerns, while delivering on time and within budget.
Daily, customers are complimentary on the layout, the lighting, the feel, and look of the store I would recommend Store Design and Fixturing to anyone.
Our store looks FABULOUS and sales have increased…..The new merchandise made all the merchandise look new and different. Right after we opened, customers thought we had ALL new merchandise….We have been extremely pleased with the new layout and showcases and wished we had done it years ago.
